Thank You

Dear Parents and Karateka,

I have some wonderful news. Crouching Tiger Karate parents, students and instructors have so far raised £758 for CWPlus. This is an astonishing achievement and I would like to say a very special thank you to all who donated and took part in our Online Inter-Dojo Cup.

The money raised will be used in the West Middlesex Hospital A&E fund and will be put towards distraction for children including sensory toys, cubicle tablets (so children can play games or watch a cartoon whilst having treatment) and the printing of artworks for the department.

Andrew and Yulia (Motik’s parents) have been touched, overwhelmed and delighted with your response. They have been actively involved with this charity over the last 10 years and they have seen first hand what a difference these donations make in the hospital so you can be assured that your money will be put to very good use.

From my family experience (my family are lucky that we have only ever been to the West Middlesex A&E for minor issues) we have noticed the little things that slightly improve one’s experience in a hospital (like the artworks on the walls) make an a disproportionally large positive difference. Those who unfortunately arrive in more serious circumstances, investment like this will transform their experience in a positive way.

I have copied below the links for donations if you would still like to make a donation and and the website in memory of Motik. Andrew and Yulia are happy to be contacted if you have any questions and you can do that through the website.

Charity Donation: 14th March marked the 10th anniversary of the death of one of our Karate students, Motik O’Mahony. I have kept in regular contact with Motik’s parents, Andrew and Yulia, over the years and I would like to dedicate this tournament to the memory of Motik. Instead of a registration fee I ask that you make a donation, however small, to CW+ which is their chosen charity. CW+ supports the emergency and critical care department of West Middlesex Hospital and other local hospitals. In order to make a donation you can click on this link: https://www.cwplus.org.uk/donate/ Select the amount you wish to donate and then choose which department you wish to support or select ‘wherever needs it most’. In the text message please write: 'ED appeal - Motik’ If you are a tax payer then please remember to click the gift aid box. If you would like to read more about the life of Motik then please follow this link: http://inmemoryofmotik.blogspot.co.uk/

If you read to the bottom of the ’Tribute to Motik’ page you will see that Motik received a special award from Crouching Tiger Karate. Motik is sadly missed but he continues to inspire all those who were lucky enough to know him and his legacy lives on.

Yours sincerely, Ben Pethick 020 8560 5267 07734 655 057 ben@crouchingtigerkarate.co.uk www.crouchingtigerkarate.co.uk
