When our students are ready to start sparring, we make protective gear compulsory. This doesn’t mean sparring is all about contact or competition. In fact, our teaching methods emphasise technique rather than application. Even with this approach, it is still good practice to maintain the right behaviour and the right equipment so our Dojo rule is non-negotiable: No protective equipment, no sparring.
