Summer Holiday Classes

Dear Parents and Karateka,

The Summer Term has now finished! There are no classes for the rest of this week and our summer holiday class schedule will start next Monday.

I would like to say a big thank you to all our students for all their hard work and indomitable martial spirit this academic year.

We managed to navigate through all the non-contact classes in boxes and ninja shoes, zoom classes in lockdowns and then slightly more normal classes this term despite all the face masks, closed waiting rooms and slimy hand gel! We faced many set backs and challenges but overcame them all and still saw progression; this was typified by 12 of our students successfully promoting to Black Belt. We haven’t lowered our standards or moved the goal posts to help anyone; instead we saw our students work harder than ever in order to reach the required level.

Summer Holiday Classes

We have organised outdoor classes and indoor classes over the summer holidays.

The indoor classes will be held on Wednesday afternoon in Grove Park (St. Michael’s Church, Elmwood Road, W4 3DY).

There will also be an adult class in St. Margaret’s on Monday evening and Kickboxing on Saturday afternoon (details on the spreadsheet).

The outdoor classes will be held in the following parks:

Moor Mead (St. Margaret’s) - Mondays at 4:30pm

Palewell Park (Sheen) - Thursdays at 4:30pm

Mortlake Green - Saturdays at 2:00pm

Kew Green - Sundays at 10:00am

How to sign up:

We have a separate shared spreadsheet for outdoor classes and indoor classes.

The spreadsheet can be accessed from the newsletter sent by email to all CTK members.

All you need to do is write the student name into one of the boxes under the date and venue of your choice.

All classes cost £10 per session and must be paid in advance. You can transfer payment to the usual account (as given in the email newsletter).

We will need a minimum of 4 students in each class so if the minimum number of students is not met then we will need to cancel the classes.

If a class is popular then we will arrange for extra instructors so that we can ensure a good instructor to student ratio.

If you sign up for a class then you should pay for that class immediately and if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice then the full class fee will be payable.

It would be very helpful for us if you book well in advance so that we can organise assigning instructors or booking/cancelling halls.

This summer our holiday classes will be organised by Sensei Tom so please see his email address ccd to this email and ask him if you need any help registering for classes.

I will be in touch again soon in a separate email regarding registrations for next term. Until then I hope you all enjoy your summer holidays.
