CTK Newsletter Update

Dear Parents and Karateka,

I am very pleased to inform you that the English Karate Federation (EKF) which is the national governing body of Karate, have given the green light for a return to socially distanced Karate training indoors. There is very detailed guidance on how we can safely open our clubs and there will need to be limited class sizes and other changes to our structure in order to comply with health and safety regulations. We are confident that we can comply with all the regulations and that we can safely open our clubs, so I will be compiling an updated risk assessment and arranging a plan with our venues to open our clubs up again in September.

I am not in a position just yet to confirm the exact timetable, class sizes and full details, but please work on the assumption that our classes will reopen in September.

Outdoor Classes:

We have changed the start time of some of our outdoor classes.

This is the current timetable:

Tuesdays in Moor Mead: 5-6pm

Tuesdays in Richmond Park: 5-6pm

Wednesdays in Duke’s Meadow: 5-6pm

Thursdays in Mortlake (Black Belts only): 6:15-7:15pm

Saturdays in Mortlake: 2-3pm

Sundays on Kew Green: 10:00-11:00am

For full details, and to book a space please see our spreadsheet which has been emailed to all members.

We will only open up a new session when there are two people on the waiting list so please do put your name on the waiting list if a class is full and there is a good chance that we will be able to set up a class for you.

YouTube:

I am very pleased to announce that we have surpassed 100 subscribers to our YouTube Channel!

Thank you very much for your wonderful support!!!

This week we are celebrating the YouTube debut of Sensei Robert and Senpai Alex! We uploaded a new video of us doing a kata together in the park. We hope you enjoy it! Please click here if you would like to watch it.

Online Classes:

There is plenty of space for new joiners in our online classes on Monday and Thursday afternoon. If you would like to join then feel free to log in and arrange the online transfer at your convenience.

Private Classes:

We also offer private classes in your garden or local park so please contact me if you would like to arrange a private class.

Best wishes,

Sensei Ben Pethick
